Not so sunny California: Reagan Presidential Library
I had a last minute opportunity to visit some family in California. (Alas, it's "not so sunny California"... temperatures are in the high 50's). We stopped by the Reagan Presidential Library on the way home from the airport:
The big showpiece of the place is one of the retired Air Force One's. They've done a brilliant job of restoring it.
I'm not sure how I feel about "The Great Communicator" and the legacy he left behind. I remember not liking him when he was in office, and I remember the 80's as being a time of real tension with regards to world affairs. Nuclear oblivion seemed like a real possibility. I wonder what he'd think of the "compassionate conservatism" of the current administration.

Alas, no jelly beans! It was quite small though, (a Boeing 707) and used by 7 presidents... from Nixon to Shrub.
